Secret Garden Guest House

The property's full of plants and statues, and the pool is the highlight. It's open 24 hours, so I could swim late at night. The room and bathroom were large, and the bed was comfortable. AC was powerful enough, and there was a fridge, kettle, hangers for drying clothes, plus hot and cold water fountains for refilling bottles. It's in a quiet area, just two minutes from the main street, with Monkey Forest, Coco grocery store and lots of restaurants nearby. Grab motorbikes can come to the door, though cars have to meet you on the main road. The included breakfast was basic, eggs, fruit and juice, and did the job. I'd bring my own coffee, though, since the house coffee wasn't good. The shower had no in-between temperature, just hot or cold, and the pressure was about like a bidet. Wi-Fi had blind spots, especially in rooms at the far end. There's a small gap at the front door where insects or lizards can get in, and cleaning seemed to happen every other day. Payment was cash only on arrival. Monkeys visit now and then because the property is near the forest. Staff were quick to chase them away and remind guests to lock doors and put belongings out of sight. I found it entertaining, though it might not suit everyone. The pool doesn't have a filter, so debris can collect, but staff clean it each morning. There was no staff on site in the evenings or overnight. They could be reached through booking apps, but nobody answered the emergency WhatsApp when the power went out. There's no hair dryer or in-room safe either, though neither was a big issue for me.
