Tegal Sari Accomodation

Everyone we met at Tegal Sari was so kind and helpful, and they even surprised my husband with flowers for his birthday. Such a thoughtful touch. We had a perfect holiday for his birthday trip to Bali. Our room was huge and spotless, and the private pool was a great size. The location made it easy to walk everywhere. We’ll definitely return to Tegal Sari.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. We liked the service enough to extend our stay by one more day, and the team helped make our trip convenient. They arranged a six-hour tour with a driver at a fairly reasonable price. We could customize it and book with just two hours’ notice, which was great, though I wish the tour had been more informative. The next morning we booked a private yin yoga class with Jenn. It was my partner’s first time practicing yoga, and he enjoyed it. He found Jenn very helpful with guiding him through the poses. Breakfast cost extra and had a varied menu, including local options. We chose the classic eggs and toast. It was okay: the papaya juice wasn’t as tasty, and the feta was too salty. I really liked the banana juice, though. The food was nicely presented, and eating on the room terrace made for a pleasant breakfast, 4/5.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the location was fantastic, less than a five-minute walk from Ubud’s main streets and Monkey Forest. We had beautiful rooms next to the garden and forest, yet didn’t have any issues with insects. The shower worked fine, but the water pressure was a bit low and it ran on the cooler side. Our room had a large bath, which made up for it. We loved our stay and will come back next time we’re in Ubud. The service and location were honestly six stars.

The staff were outstanding, kind and accommodating, with helpful suggestions whenever we needed them. The front desk helped us check in late and coordinate drivers. Our guided tour with Pak Indra was the best day of our month-long vacation. At the stops we chose, he shared cultural and natural details, helped us avoid faux pas during the melukat purification ritual at Pura Tirta Empul, and led a custom walk through the terraces at Tegalalang. He explained Balinese plant names and uses and pointed out things about the rice terrace ecology. It felt special and much more genuine than the frontside Instagram photo ops. Give that man a raise! We stayed in January 2026 and loved the hotel’s setting between two green properties. It’s near the hubbub of Ubud but not right in it. We could walk to Monkey Forest, ARMA, several restaurants and grocery shops, and it was close enough to Ubud Palace. We booked a deluxe wooden room and a superior room. Both were very clean and comfortable, with high-quality linens and pillows. The deluxe room’s porch was a relaxing place to read and look over the cassava and bananas growing next door. Room service from Warung Semesta was tasty. I’ll recommend Tegal Sari to anyone I know visiting Bali.
