The Kailas Ubud

We could walk to most places from this great location, which was handy since I’m not very fit. The villa was beautiful, the staff lovely, and breakfast was delicious. A special thanks to the whole team, especially Sudana, who helped us throughout our stay. We’ll definitely be back!

My daughter loved having her own pool, and the villa was comfortable and very clean. Both floors have air conditioning, ceiling fans, and bathrooms, and everything felt thoughtfully designed. I forgot to order the floating breakfast a day ahead, but they still brought a heart-shaped tray. There weren’t flowers because of the short notice, which was my mistake, but my daughter still got to eat breakfast in the pool. The difficult part was getting there. The street is so narrow that only one car can pass at a time, and it’s about a 10-minute uphill walk from the main road. Cars have to give way to oncoming traffic or nobody can get through. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The flower arrangement was stunning, and everything from the hospitality to the cleanliness felt so thoughtful. Kailas and the staff were a real highlight of my trip. They went out of their way to accommodate us when our flights changed at the last minute, and were flexible with our luggage too. It was beautiful here, and I’d absolutely stay again.

We had a lovely breakfast in our own garden, with plenty of fresh choices arriving at the time we picked. The garden itself was wonderful, with a good-sized pool and comfortable loungers. The villa was beautifully decorated and well maintained, and communication with the manager was excellent. Although it’s on a narrow side road, the main part of Ubud is still walkable, and we couldn’t hear noise from the villa. There are some excellent warungs and restaurants close by. We especially liked stopping at Agny’s for an evening drink, just opposite the Kailas. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and did everything they could for us. I’d recommend the Kailas Ubud if you want to be a short walk from Ubud’s main areas without staying right in the middle of the buzz.
