Villa Puriartha Ubud

The location is fantastic, close to shops and restaurants and just a 5-minute walk from the Yoga Barn. The room was clean and spacious, but mine was near the entrance on the main busy road, and the traffic noise was incessant. It was so loud that I had to wear earplugs every night to sleep. Other villas on the same street sit farther back from the road and may be quieter, so keep that in mind if you’re a light sleeper. My upstairs room got plenty of daylight, though I couldn’t leave the curtains open because people could see inside. It had an L-shaped layout, and the AC didn’t reach the whole room, so it got hot overnight. My friend’s room didn’t have that issue, so it may depend on which room you get.

We spent eight nights in a suite, and I loved staying here. It’s close to just about everything, with a cafe, drug store, and spa right across the street, plus money changers, fancy restaurants and Cafés, and the monkey forest nearby. The room was big, with sofas and a couch, a good bed, and a bathroom bigger than a hotel bathroom. Our toilet flush wasn’t working properly, but staff fixed it right away and it worked great after that. I’m sure I’ll recommend this villa to all my friends and stay again next time I’m in Ubud.

The Wi-Fi barely worked, and there was no breakfast option. The place was very noisy, right beside the road and a bar with karaoke every night. I had to pay to upgrade because the rooms I was offered smelled bad, like a drain, and had bright lights shining in all night. I won’t come back.

We had a comfortable suite, with the bedroom upstairs and a separate seating area and second bathroom downstairs. The bed was comfy and came with a net to keep bugs away. Hot showers were lovely, and the staff were friendly. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty but good enough. The walls are thin, so you can hear the other guests quite a bit, though it wasn’t a huge issue.
