Tuga Guest House Ubud

We felt at home here for the first time in weeks of travel. The hosts were incredibly friendly, and the place was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The bathroom was bigger than we expected, and there was a fully stocked communal kitchen to use. Great AC, plenty of outlets, and strong WiFi too. The location gave us some peace and quiet while still being close enough to the city center. We booked on Airbnb and loved this place. I’m surprised by the negative Google reviews, I can’t imagine why anyone would give it less than five stars. It was our favorite stay in Bali. GREAT STAY❤️

The room had a musty mold smell that kept me from sleeping well. You don't notice it when visiting because the windows have been open for a while. The bathroom smelled bad too, the sheets weren't very clean, and loud wild roosters could usually be heard from 4:30 am to 1 pm. I also asked Ayu two or three times before moving in whether upstairs neighbors could be heard walking, and she said no. Once I moved in, I could hear them stomping around loudly until 1:30 am the first night, and every day after that too. They were liars, greedy, and uncaring. Really don't bother staying there.

We spent about three weeks at Tuga Guesthouse and were lucky enough to join in a family ceremony. It was our first trip to Bali and Ubud, and we’re so glad we stayed here. Wayan, his wife Ibu, their whole family, and Wayan who works there were warm and welcoming. He even told us where to find the sweetest and cheapest durians 😂. The apartments were clean, WiFi worked great, breakfast was tasty, and the kitchen had all the stuff needed for cooking 🥗. Hope we can come back soon!

I booked through Airbnb, but the gate shown in the Google photos was the wrong place. When I went there, dogs attacked me. I quickly messaged the host on Airbnb, and she said I’d entered the wrong gate. Since I was already at a different hotel after the dog incident, the host said she would return some money. A few days later, she stopped replying. I feel scammed and hate this kind of behavior. Don’t recommend.
