Ubud Virgin Villa

There’s plenty of shared space, and the villa is a great deal for the price. The lighting is quite dim, though, and there are no fans in the common area. We stayed a couple of nights. Nobody replied to our check-in messages beforehand, but there was a number written on the gatepost outside. We called it and someone came over promptly to let us in. The service was good otherwise. Thanks.

The rooms were clean, and two had outdoor baths, which was lovely. My son and I only stayed one night, though the place is set up for a much bigger group. There are three separate queen beds, divided either by a path beside the Koi pond or by the large pool. The grounds are lush, with a big kitchen and a poolside sitting area connected to a TV room.

I really liked the place, but one of the rooms we booked had a painting that felt very inappropriate. It made me uncomfortable and awkward, and I didn't think it needed to be there. Fortunately, we were able to change rooms, but that experience has me unsure whether I'd book again.

The staff were really friendly, and our room was clean. We loved the villa during our three-day stay, especially its rustic wooden touches and lap pool. It’s about a 15-minute bike ride from Ubud center. The one thing that could use attention is the tableware: the glasses and plates should probably be updated. There’s a cooking range, but no microwave.
