Uma Padi Villa

Kupu Villa was a lovely place to stay, cute and quaint, with a view over a rice field. The house had good amenities, decent air conditioning, a spacious bathroom, and a filtered water dispenser, which was a nice extra. The pool was clean, though surprisingly cold. Staff were super friendly and helpful, bringing breakfast to the villa each morning and arranging a very convenient airport pickup. It’s about a 40-minute walk to central Ubud, so keep that in mind. That distance makes the area quiet and peaceful, and a Grab car gets you into Ubud in around 10 minutes depending on traffic. There’s a local coffee shop just down the road worth visiting.

Breakfast arrived in the villa at whatever time we asked for, and it was fab. The private pool had a fountain, which made it a lovely place to unwind. We could walk to a few restaurants and shops, or take a Grab for about 10 minutes into busier central Ubud, with its markets and other things to see. Tegalalang rice terraces and the monkey forest were also a short Grab ride away. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I especially enjoyed meeting wyan, ketut, and another lovely man. I'd definitely come back.

GDE and Dewa waited up for us until 3 am, and GDE looked after us throughout the stay. Traveling with our 15-month-old daughter, we appreciated how he kept her comfortable and entertained from breakfast through dinner, even while we were taking photos. He also helped plan our sightseeing and transport, and was a great guide. His wife made very delicious breakfasts. The villa is a family business run by three brothers, and their care made the trip easy and memorable. Uma Padi Villa itself is beautiful, with two floors, a lovely pool, a well-equipped kitchen, and space to eat or sit outside. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and the decorated entrance was a lovely welcome. It’s peaceful, with beautiful views of Ubud’s natural surroundings. We had a fabulous stay, and I’d highly recommend it for couples, families, or friends visiting Bali and Ubud.

There’s a free shuttle once a day to Ubud Palace point, where you can find lots of restaurants. We had an amazing stay, and the private pool was a highlight. The staff were very friendly and did their best to keep everything clean, though the white cotton sheets, pillows, and towels looked gray and dirty and need more attention. It’s a lovely place. If you’re staying among rice fields and nature, expect to see and hear bugs, insects, frogs, and the like. Thanks to the staff.
