MesaStila Resort and Spa

The place is a lifetime kind of stay. Jungle surrounds MesaStila, with volcanoes on the horizon, and the villas are gorgeous, authentic homes that were saved and brought here. It’s a lovely mix of nature and culture. We had a great Javanese massage, enjoyed the food, and felt so well looked after that it was like being with family. We only stayed three nights, which we regret. I’d suggest 5-7 nights if you want time for sightseeing. It’s remote for taxi apps, so arrange tours with mesastila or someone else ahead of time. The local coffee plantation and village tours were amazing too.

The hotel is a little far from some of the main sights, so it suits a stay where you can enjoy the spa, relax, and take their tours. Our room and its view were beautiful, and all the staff were fantastic. We also loved the free photo session with Dinda from Loft Moments, their in-house photographer. It came with a printed, framed picture, and we bought some digital prints too because they turned out so well. Dinda was professional and patient with our kids. We don’t normally do photo shoots, so these pictures will be a special memory. Highly recommended!

There are lovely places around the resort to take photos, which made the stay memorable. The room was comfortable and clean, with a peaceful feel and beautiful views. Breakfast had a tasty range of choices too. A great place to relax in nature.

We loved the peaceful villa and the family friendly activities at MesaStila. The resort is huge, and when heavy rain hit during check-in, the team kept us comfortable with umbrellas and a buggy ride to our villa. The morning coffee tour followed the beans from planting through manual processing to a fresh cup, and the kids and adults both found it inspiring. On the afternoon village walk, we learned how locals make plywood and teakwood and were warmly welcomed. In the right season, locals might even offer fresh durians or avocados. We also did a Loft Moment photo session, and the results were stunning and very professional. Breakfast and afternoon tea were delicious. Across our two nights we tried both buffet and à la carte dining, and we preferred the à la carte flavors. Staff were incredibly friendly. The resort feels like a real escape from city life, surrounded by coffee plantations, durian trees, and pristine nature. One small note: we paid an extra IDR 350K per night for an additional child, since the usual coverage is 2 adults + 2 kids. They set up a sofa bed, so it worked out fine. A few more activities might make longer stays even more exciting. Thanks, MesaStila, for a memorable family holiday. We hope to come back.
