Askara Villa Uluwatu

An awesome spot, with awesome staff who really help you out.

The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space, but the villa felt unloved and neglected. The grass was dry, the terrace above the garage had a dirty floor, the pool water was murky, the walls were dirty and peeling, and the mirror was completely filthy. There was still someone’s long black hair in the bathtub, and the shower stones were very dirty and unpleasant. It’s a shame, because the villa has a lot of potential, yet the price is inflated. The check-in time was confusing. In Bali, check-in is usually at 2:00 PM, but a staff member messaged me that their rules said 3:00 PM, so we had to find somewhere else to spend that hour. When we arrived, though, the house rules contract we were asked to sign listed check-in at 2:00 PM. What was the point of that? Our children unfortunately broke a cup and a glass, and we told the staff ourselves. The staff member charged us 80,000 rubles. We paid, of course, but the broken items weren’t worth that much. I hope he at least replaced the missing dishes so there’ll be enough for the next guests.
