Good place.

The room was clean and comfortable, which made this a good stop during my trip from Cilacap to Balikpapan when I had to transit because there were no flights that day. The hotel sits about 20 meters off the main road, a little tucked away, and Wates Station is close, around a 250-meter walk. It’s next to a mosque, so joining congregational prayer was easy. They had my room ready before check-in, and there’s a pantry where you can make hot water. The service was excellent.

I booked more than five rooms for a two-day, one-night stay, and we had a number of problems. Some bathrooms had flush toilets that backed up or overflowed, and a few still had yellow marks on the walls. The sheets in some rooms smelled as if they hadn’t been freshened. The extra bed was a floor mattress rather than a single bed. The security guard was friendly, but also very fussy.

I added an extra bed and got a floor mattress, which I hadn’t expected. I was also annoyed when I arrived around 10 a.m. after picking up my little brother at the station and was handed my ID card, even though checkout was at noon. I left without saying goodbye. Earlier, while staying with my 4.5-year-old, I’d put diapers on him in case he wet the bed, but the owner still asked me in the morning whether he had. My husband was asked too, even though I was the one in the room. That felt fussy.
