Adhisthana Hotel

The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere, thoughtful design, friendly staff, and a good breakfast. It's close to a mosque, so you can hear the call to prayer early, starting around 4:00 AM.

The biggest problem was the noise. Every day, guests with children played and shouted in the pool from 5 to 6 AM and again in the afternoon. All the rooms face the pool, so sleeping past 5:30 was impossible. The noise carried into the afternoon and evening, making naps impossible too. I stayed five nights and barely got five hours of sleep each night. I complained to reception and asked to move rooms, but nothing was done. This morning I went down again at 6:20; nobody was there, and after waiting ten minutes I left without speaking to anyone, still exhausted, so I'm writing this review. If you like no sleep and waking to screaming parents and crying children at 6 AM, knock yourself out. The public spaces are pretty and the hotel is generally fine, but the rooms and bathrooms don't get the same attention. There's nowhere for a suitcase or backpack, the bathrooms are small, and only a shower towel separates the shower from the toilet. Some sinks and fixtures, like soap dispensers, were dirty.

The location is great, and the decor is cute. My simple room had what I needed for three nights, though the sheets were kind of scratchy polyester. Bring earplugs, since the call to prayer is loud at 4am.

Room service deserves high praise, the food was amazing, and the staff were very helpful. In the heart of Prawirotaman neighborhood, this place is quiet and secluded, a good fit for couples or solo travelers looking for a serene, relaxing stay.
