Hotel Noola Malioboro

The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and reception is available 24 hours if you need a kettle, hairdryer, or anything else. There's no fridge in the room, but it honestly didn't bother us. My family and I were happy with the value and the lovely vibe. I picked Noola Malioboro at random on Agoda for an overnight stay in Yogyakarta, and it turned out to be a solid choice. Vika was amazing at check-in, recommending local food spots and places to visit, and made us feel welcome straight away. The location is convenient for getting around by foot or transport. A decent, comfortable place with friendly staff. The stairs can be a challenge, especially if you're holidaying with your parents. A lift would be very useful.

The staff were kind, brought my bag up despite there being no elevator, and lent me an outlet adaptor. The location is good too, quiet, with cafes and convenience stores nearby. But cleanliness is my top concern in a hotel, and this place failed badly. I'm writing on my first night because I couldn't wait any longer. I felt betrayed by the previous Google reviews. The room was dirty: the closet area had seen better days, there were ants on the table, and the sheets and shower curtain were stained. The towels were two different shades of white. The sink drained slowly, the toilet seat was half detached from its hinge, and the bathroom bin was filthy, with a lid you have to lift by hand. Hot water ran out two minutes into my shower.
