Hotel O Jalan Malioboro Near Stasiun Tugu Yogyakarta Formerly Hotel Baru

For a cheap place to sleep and spend a few days, I’d recommend it. Don’t expect burgers, think KFC instead. Malioboro Street, the train station, food places, Indomaret, and Alfa mart are all within walking distance. The rooms are a bit old, and I’m not sure when the receptionist is there, but they provide a phone number. The rooms have air conditioning, hot water, a private bathroom and toilet, a large king-size bed, TV, chair, and table. It’s the cheapest price.

The building is old and used to be called Hotel Baru. Our room was large, with two queen-size beds, which worked well for a family with children. There’s no breakfast, but you can find food nearby. It’s within walking distance of central Malioboro Street and Tugu railway station, while still feeling quiet enough to rest after busy days exploring Jogjakarta. The crew were helpful. They made us coffee using our own instant coffee and let us use eating utensils. One thing that needed attention was the bin in room 3. It hadn’t been emptied, and rubbish from the previous visitors was still there when new guests checked in.

It’s a basic budget hotel. It does the job, as long as you don’t expect much.
