The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant, and the owner was really friendly. I stayed three days at Java Homestay on a solo trip to Yogyakarta last November. The price was very affordable, especially with an en suite bathroom, and the room was roomy enough for one person. There was a shared kitchen for making light meals, plus a nice upstairs balcony to relax on. In the room I had a TV, fan, and power outlets, and the bathroom had a shower and toilet. The drain was partly blocked, so water took a while to go down. Cleanliness was okay, though the balcony was dirty and had spilled snacks left by other guests. I’d rate it 7.8/10, a good fit for a budget visit to Yogyakarta. Thanks for the service, and I hope the homestay keeps thriving and improving.

The top floor had a great view, and the balcony was a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the evening. Java Homestay made for a memorable stay. The shared kitchen was useful, with drinking water and a refrigerator available to everyone. It’s also well located near restaurants and tourist attractions.

At 98,000 Rupiah, this is a decent budget option, though it isn’t as polished as a hotel costing over 200,000. Wi-Fi and gallon water are free, and the shared kitchen is the main plus. You can make your own coffee and food, with instant spices and plates provided. The bathroom has a sitting toilet, bidet, and shower. It’s fan only, no AC, and there’s a rooftop full of flowers.

The house has a comfortable, pleasant feel, and the room smelled nice. Sheets, pillows, and blankets were clean. The bathroom looked worn from the age of the building, and the room walls were very damp. There’s a fan rather than AC, but the room felt cool enough that I didn’t use it. The man on duty wasn’t always there, but he was friendly and easy to contact. It was a fairly comfortable stay.

We got two rooms for five people for about 600,000 and stayed two days. For a place mainly to sleep, it’s very worth it. It’s close to Tugu Station and Malioboro, and the security guard was really friendly. I asked for an upstairs room and got one. There’s a sort of balcony upstairs where you can hang out and chat. The neighborhood felt safe and wasn’t noisy at all, since motorbikes have to be guided in.
