RedDoorz near Kranggan Tugu Jogja

There are some good, cheap restaurants nearby, and being on the other side of town, away from tourists, could suit some people. The staff were friendly enough, though they didn't really speak English, so communication was difficult. I stayed for 2 nights because it was very cheap and works if you're on a tight budget. Still, the floors weren't cleaned well and were a little dirty, the bathroom was too cramped and smelled a bit. There was no window, despite Agoda saying city view.

I'd already paid for 4 nights, but after using just 1 night I couldn't get a refund. The place looked good in the app, but in person it was the complete opposite. The room was shabby and extremely dirty. There was a lot of dirt under the mattress, as if it had never been swept, and the mattress was hard and broken. The toilet smelled and was crusted with moss. It didn't seem fit to stay in. The inn was awful from the moment I walked in, even the back of the kitchen had piles of trash. A real dud.

The place looked nothing like its pictures. My bed was hard, the room smelled, and it was itchy and filthy. The toilet and table were dirty too, as shown in the picture. They also charged an extra 20,000 Rupiah tax per room. Better to find somewhere with slightly more upscale amenities than end up disappointed.
