Royal Alana Yogyakarta Hotel & Convention Center

My first overnight stay here went pretty well. I used to come by for Alanis or Alana brownies, which are really delicious. The food selection, staff, and cleanliness of the room were all satisfactory and well handled, though nothing stood out as especially remarkable. The check-in conversation was frustrating. I had booked on Traveloka and confirmed a smoking room beforehand, but the receptionist said it would cost an extra IDR 200,000. I was willing to pay, but explained that charging extra for that is an upsell, not an upgrade. An upgrade would mean putting me in a higher room category at no extra cost. I made sure she understood the difference.

Everywhere I saw, from the bathroom and shared areas to the room, was spotless. My room was comfortable, very clean, and well kept, and housekeeping did a great job. The cleanliness at The Alana Hotel made the stay relaxing and pleasant. Highly recommended if cleanliness matters to you.@panca

Breakfast had lots to choose from and tasted great, and the pool and other facilities were well maintained. The location was convenient and easy to get to. My room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, while the staff were friendly, helpful, and professional all the way from check-in through check-out. I had a great stay at Alana Hotel and would gladly return for work or a vacation.

The deluxe room was roomy, tidy, and clean, with an extra sofa. The pool was lovely too. One staff member offered my son floaties and two balls, and was kind and helpful with him. The children's pool is partly indoors, while the larger one is fully outdoors. Breakfast had plenty of options, and my husband and I liked the coffee corner. You can ask for a coffee made to order or have the ready-to-drink Mandala Coffee. It was creamy but still tasted like coffee. The staff were kind throughout our stay, especially with our son. At breakfast, a staff member or manager, we didn't get his name, came over and chatted with him about how he liked the meal. He even did his best to answer the random questions from a two-year-old 😂. We really appreciated that. For our first stay, The Alana made us feel welcome right away.
