Royal Malioboro By ASTON

I especially appreciated the quick check-in and excellent service throughout our stay. Thanks to Sylvia (Receptionist) and the helpful bellboy who handled our luggage, though I didn't catch his name. The rooms were cozy, clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Breakfast had lots of delicious local and international options, and everyone at the restaurant was wonderful. The staff were always helpful and friendly, greeting us with smiles from arrival to departure. The location is great, close to Malioboro Street and the train station, so it was easy to explore. My family and I had a wonderful stay at Royal Malioboro by Aston. It offers good value and hospitality, and we'd happily stay again on future visits to Yogyakarta.

We've stayed here twice now, and enjoyed both visits. The room and bathroom were clean and ready for us, and the breakfast buffet had an excellent range of choices. One small suggestion for next time: a timer at the egg station might help get half-boiled eggs right. We asked for them, waited quite a while, and got hard-boiled eggs instead. 😀

The bathroom's glass walls need visible markings around eye level so people can tell they're there. I walked into one in the morning and broke my glasses. With the bathroom light on and the door closed, the rest of the lights were off when I woke up, and I walked straight into the glass before I was fully awake. It could happen to anyone, and could even lead to a legal claim. Also, the bath hose handle is hard to turn with soapy hands because the knob has no texture. It looks good, but isn't easy to switch on and off while bathing. Even with those concerns, I liked the large room, twin beds, TV channels, furnishings, strong water pressure, and very fast hot water. The hotel's location in the Malioboro area is great, within walking distance of the famous street, the train station, and places to eat like LOKO and Kopi Joss. This was my first stay, from 18 - 20 April 2026. I'd still recommend the hotel highly, just watch out for that glass wall if you're half asleep.

We'd had good experiences at Aston hotels before, and Royal Malioboro by Aston was just as good. This was our first time in Yogyakarta, and we found the hotel clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Everyone on the staff and management team was friendly, polite, and accommodating. Aldo, Nida, and Kiki took especially good care of us. We're very grateful for the warm hospitality and hope to come back.
