Aisling Guest House

We paid €200 for one night after finding nowhere else at short notice, and I couldn’t wait to leave. The floors were so sticky we kept our shoes on, there was mould in the room, and dust had clearly built up. My two kids have asthma and coughed all night. The bathroom was so bad they wouldn’t use it. We slept in our clothes on top of the blankets, and I don’t want to imagine what was under the beds or on them. They offered cereal with the room, but we didn’t even wait to eat it. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. Dirty kip.

We only ended up here because our other accommodation was cancelled and this was the only place available. There was no heating, so we slept in our clothes with hats on. The rooms were filthy, with loose wires everywhere and mould on the windows, blinds and throughout the bathroom. The kitchen needed a deep clean and repairs. The bathroom was so bad I wouldn’t let my kids use it. I can’t recommend this place at all.

We had to drive out at dawn to find someone at reception because the owner kept hanging up when we tried to call. Reception was in another building more than 2 km away. Before that, a sharp, very loud noise disturbed us for almost two hours. The hotel itself was dirty, old and in very poor condition, with blood on the sheets and spiders in the room. After a month travelling around Ireland, this was by far the most disgusting place we’d slept in. Shameful.

My girls, aged 14 and 17, were afraid to sleep there and only used the toilet after I spent ten minutes cleaning it. The place was impossibly dirty, with furniture that looked like it was from the early 60s and walls like an African $2 hostel. As an online expert, I’m sure all the positive comments here are fake and paid. If you want to help finance the landlord’s 200k Range Rover, which is a nice car, waste your money here and you’ll have an experience of your life. Expect less than nothing, and don’t bring kids.
