The location made getting around Athenry easy. Banba House is a short walk from the railway station, castle, playground, pubs, restaurants, bakeries and convenience store, with Aldi under 15 minutes away. We had three generations of family there over nine nights, and up to 15 of us stayed for two nights. There was room to gather for card games in the big living room, and the kitchen was stocked well enough for us to make nearly all our breakfasts. The beds and rooms were clean and comfortable. Ray showed us around, left three bottles of wine for our arrival, and shared information about local music and van services. For the number of people it can sleep and the quality of the rooms, it was great value.

Ashlin was rude and aggressive in emails, swore at me, and often didn't respond. I'm really disappointed, because Ray was great while we were booking. When it came to sorting out the problem, though, there was no flexibility, and they kept what I consider our deposit. My friends and I had been looking forward to staying at Banba House, but COVID meant we couldn't go. The website said no deposit was taken, yet £500 was charged to me and they refused to return it. I could understand the policy in normal circumstances, but this was outside our control. Based on my dealings with Ashlin, I wouldn't recommend booking here.
