The balcony had a lovely view, and our room was just right. The staff were helpful, friendly and lovely, and the Prosecco on arrival was a nice touch. We enjoyed the food, especially the fabulous breakfast delivered to our room one morning. The location is beautiful, and the spa was gorgeous. I had one of the best massages I’ve ever had, with an excellent therapist. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

The wine list was a real treat, and it felt carefully chosen for the restaurant and its menu. We had a wonderful family Sunday lunch at Wineport Lodge yesterday, with excellent service and divine food. The starters were all lovely. I usually go for a hot starter, but the hummus surprised me with how delightful its flavours were. The focaccia served with it was soft and crisp, and amazing. The roast beef, which two of us had, was delicious and cooked perfectly for us, medium rare. The porchetta was a delight, full of zesty flavour, and the chicken supreme came with the finest leek mash I’ve ever tasted. Looking forward to going back soon. Thanks to everyone at wineport!

The bar and restaurant team were friendly and efficient, and the food and drinks were 10/10. We had a wonderful time staying here last night. There were lovely treats in the room with a handwritten note when we arrived, a thoughtful touch. We were celebrating my late birthday, and the hotel went above and beyond to make it special. They brought a balloon to our dinner table and a little cake with a birthday message and candle. The service was amazing all round. I’ll definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family, and we’ll 100% visit again.

We had a much-needed catch-up at Wineport Lodge in Athlone, and from the moment we arrived on a grey winter evening, we felt welcome. They greeted us warmly and offered a hot drink, which set the tone for our stay. We were kindly upgraded to a family room with extra beds, double vanities and a bathroom with underfloor heating, a welcome luxury. Looking out over the banks of Lough Ree was a delight, especially in the morning. The young men serving us in the bar were attentive, professional and genuinely friendly. We also enjoyed a lovely meal and cocktails there. It was a relaxing, memorable stay, with comfort, good food and great hospitality. I’d highly recommend it, and plan to return with my husband and recommend it to family.

The only small downside to a beautiful afternoon tea at the Wineport with my Mum was a group of tipsy, rudely loud, middle-aged women who didn’t seem to realise the room was shared. The staff, as always, were warm, welcoming and very professional. The tea was elegant and delicious, the room beautiful, and the view spectacular ✨️
