Markree Castle

Our 150 guests are still talking about the food, the service, and how special our wedding felt at Markree Castle. The castle made a stunning, almost magical setting, and everything ran smoothly on the day. The team stayed calm and precise, so we could relax and enjoy every moment. During planning, everyone was warm, professional, and attentive to details. Deirdre, our wedding coordinator, deserves a special mention. She spent so much time guiding us through the details at several viewings, listened to us, and made us feel supported. She was open to all our wishes, and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. We’re so grateful to Markree Castle and the whole team for giving us our dream wedding. We couldn’t recommend the venue more.

The ceremony space outdoors looked like something from a fairytale, and we’ll remember it for years. My daughter’s wedding stay at Markree Castle was easy and stress free, thanks to Alex and all the castle staff. Their experience and help made the beautiful day so much simpler, and everyone was attentive, friendly, and professional. I slept warm, so I asked for a fan and one was brought to my room. Our room was beautiful, with a lovely view over the gardens. We spent two days there for the wedding and had a wonderful time. Thank you to the staff for looking after us so well.

Every meal felt like it came from a high end five star restaurant, and the service was just as good: professional, attentive, and at the standard you’d expect from a luxury hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the castle itself was immaculate. Everyone on the team was friendly, organized, and happy to help. Their attention to detail kept everything running smoothly and let us enjoy the day. The whole wedding was beyond what we could have imagined. Markree Castle delivered a five star experience in the food, service, atmosphere, and accommodation.

Three years after getting married at Markree, we came back for two nights for our anniversary. There’s plenty to enjoy just wandering the hallways, spending time in the different rooms, especially the class billiard room, or walking the grounds with Fionn, the resident Irish wolfhound. The castle is amazing, and the rooms are top notch and extremely comfortable. The staff’s care and attention to detail are among the best we’ve experienced. A handwritten card welcoming us back was waiting in our room, and everyone was eager to help. Easily our favourite castle stay.
