The restaurant was busy, but it shut at a reasonable hour, and there wasn’t any noise in our room. Parking took a bit of figuring out with the town so crowded, though the staff helped us get sorted. We’d come for the castle and hadn’t realized it was a holiday. I reckon we’ll be back in Baltimore sometime, and I’d stay here again.

The breakfast was a real highlight, served in the restaurant with views across the harbour to Sherkin Island. This was our second stay, and the rooms were lovely. Kate and the whole team do a fantastic job.

We arrived a day late because of an illness in the family, and they didn’t charge us for the missed night. The people managing the hotel looked after us so well. Our room was right in the centre of town and had a fabulous harbour view, and breakfast came with another lovely look out over the sea. There’s a short walk to the Michelin star restaurant, or you can turn left and follow a fabulous walk down to the sea. A beautiful hotel in a beautiful spot.

I don’t normally leave reviews, but I had the best warm chocolate cake today at Jacobs. It was raining, so I sat under the awning and stayed dry. The service was good too. Keep up the great work.

The rooms were exceptional, the food was good, and the staff were lovely. This could well be the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a perfect base for anyone planning a trip to sherkin or cape clear island.
