The Twelve Hotel

The stay was a letdown from the start. At check-in, we were simply handed a key with the room number written on it, with no warm greeting or information about breakfast times or the restaurant, even though Blackthorn restaurant has a very good reputation. Front of house matters, and this staff member seemed inexperienced. Breakfast service was extremely slow, with a 20-minute wait to be served. I think a buffet would suit the hotel better. The bar food was overpriced for what we got and lacked flavour. Our room had no bottled water, and the toilet leaked at its base. Very disappointing.

The Twelve has $700 of my money and $1,000 of my sister’s, and we won’t be staying there when we visit Ireland. We’d been looking forward to the trip, but my husband was badly injured in a motorcycle accident on 5/4/26 and needed to use a wheelchair for six weeks. Our trip was planned for 6/1, so we gave our room to my niece and her husband, who hadn’t prepaid theirs yet. Then a family member died, and the rest of us had to cancel. We told The Twelve what had happened. They didn’t ask us for proof, though we would have gladly provided it, but still refused to give credit for the same period next year or even later this year. They offered credit for the following week, which felt ridiculous after a death in the family. The hotels we’d booked in Dublin and London, and even the airlines, gave us credit vouchers. I’m so disappointed by the lack of compassion. GFY The Twelve.

Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and they left a doggie bag for our arrival. It was lovely to find a high-quality hotel that welcomes pets so well. We only used the restaurant for breakfast, but there was also an EV charger in the car park. Brilliant stay, and I’d definitely recommend it and come back. Thanks to everyone at the twelve.

Our room was much larger than we expected, and it was clean and comfy. The food was really good too. This is the best pet-friendly hotel we’ve stayed at, with everything set up to welcome furry guests. Every staff member was lovely, and we’re especially grateful to Iker for finding us an HDMI cable so we could watch Netflix 😂. If you’re travelling with a pet, don’t hesitate to make this your next stop. This place is just espectacular!
