Grand Central Hotel

The seating area in the bar and lounge looks out over the main street, and the hotel is ideally placed right on it. Staff and food were great, and we got a good deal through a website, which left us very happy. The decor is aged in places, as you'd expect from a hotel with character. We'd come back if the price or deal was right. We're happy customers.

The staff were friendly, and the food in the bar was beautiful. Anything we needed was brought straight up to the room, which was amazing. My husband is a very well-built man, though, and the bed was too small and uncomfortable for both of us. We'd stay again, but hopefully next time we'd get a comfortable bed.

The room was clean and a good size, and there's a lift as well as stairs. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the food was lovely too. Breakfast was substantial. The hotel is very central, though it could do with updating. There's a public car park beside the hotel with plenty of spaces, for €3 a day. We enjoyed our stay, with lots to do for all ages and everything close by.

The location is incredible, and the staff were lovely. The hotel itself is pretty rundown, but breakfast was fresh, plentiful and awesome. I was glad to see good food safety and hygiene too, with a staff member serving the buffet. We visited out of season, and the wind was bitter. I imagine the area must be hopping in summer. It's no-frills accommodation in a superb location.
