The staff were lovely, and we didn't blame them for the menu. Still, the descriptions were confusing enough that I think people should know what to expect. I’ve never left a review before, but we came away really disappointed. We were visiting with friends and got a table outside, which was nice. Inside, it was so dark we could barely make out what was happening around us. The menu was hard to follow too: we ordered the €33 short rib expecting ribs, but got a tiny piece of meat without any bones. Someone else ordered lamb ribs and got a similarly small piece, so we weren't even sure what we'd eaten. The burger and prawn cocktail were the only things we enjoyed. The rest of the food was poor value, and after spending €170 with the service charge included, we were still hungry and went elsewhere to eat.

I’ve eaten at plenty of places around Ireland, and this has become one of my favourites. The cocktails, wine selection, starters and mains all impressed me and went beyond what I expected. I’d happily come back.

I ordered the beef short ribs and was surprised by how little arrived. There were no sides with it either, unlike what you get at most restaurants. The food tastes fine, but nothing really stands out. For the price, the portions are too small, and I left feeling I’d paid more than I got. I probably wouldn’t choose to eat here again.

The menu says a service charge is added, and it isn't excessive. It also says clearly that paying it is optional. They checked with us and other diners too, and I didn't hear anyone object. We had one of the best meals we've had in ages, especially the oysters. The atmosphere was great and the staff were lovely. If we're back in the area, we'd definitely eat here again, or stay over if we can.

The bill gets a service charge added automatically, and the portions felt small for the price. I could've sworn half my mussels had disappeared before they reached the table.
