Derrynane Hotel & Holiday Homes

The bed was super comfortable, and despite the building being older, the hotel inside was clean and tidy. The staff were lovely and arranged a late dinner for us when we arrived. It was spectacular. I loved every bite of what was probably the best veggie burger I've ever had. The toppings were a bit different from the menu, with iceberg lettuce instead of rocket, and I think that made it even better. Getting a table was tricky since we arrived late and were told the restaurant was full. They also offered a pizza menu, but a really lovely woman in the restaurant managed to find us a spot for the dinner menu in the end. The room was a little cold, though there was a heater. The bathroom had no ventilation, but that didn't bother us much. The hotel has a fantastic location overlooking the sea.

The family room was smaller than usual, though all we did was sleep there. The outdoor pool isn't heated. We had a sea view room, and the views were fantastic. The staff were lovely throughout, and there was plenty of very good food. A lovely place, and we'll definitely come back.

The location and views are amazing, and the staff are lovely, but the place could use some work. The rooms could be cleaner and more modern, though that wasn't a deal breaker for us. Dinner was the real letdown. It was so poor the kids wouldn't eat it, and we didn't finish ours either. The food didn't seem fresh or made with quality ingredients.

The rooms are simple but really spacious and spotlessly clean, and we had a lovely few days here. We enjoyed the food, the gorgeous bar, and the lovely walks. There's a beautiful beach down the road, plus a pool and sauna. The views are spectacular, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I'll be back!
