The staff really made our stay. They were FABULOUS, warm, helpful, and always happy to stop for a chat. We spent ten days at The Carraig in June 2025 and loved the boutique feel, the amazing food, and how beautifully clean everything was. We picked a smaller town because we wanted to feel part of it. It was our second trip to Ireland, and we prefer hotels to B and Bs. There’s plenty to do nearby, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

The friendly service was very good, and breakfast was a highlight: plenty of choice, tasty food, and nice service. The hotel is right in the centre, with public parking opposite for 3€ a day. Our room was very clean, though it could use some renovation, and being right by the restaurant cooling unit meant a constant, somewhat disturbing hum. At 177€ for one night, the room felt a bit overpriced as it was. Still, it was a good experience, though a few details kept it from a fifth star. I'd give it 4.5 if I could.

The breakfast was perfect, and the rooms were tidy and quiet. Such a beautiful spot, with super friendly, helpful staff. When I'm in town, I'll stay nowhere else.

I went in for dinner a few times and couldn't fault it. The beef is worth trying, the food was amazing, and the staff were lovely and helpful. A great place for the whole family.

Second night can't come soon enough. The steak burger was OMG good, and the guys serving were brilliant. At the bar, this English guy finally got a real pint of Guinness, jackpot, worth the wait since my last time in Ireland. From the moment you walk in, the staff are spot on, and the room was good, nothing wrong with it at all. Second Happy Place. Thank you to everyone at “The Carraig Hotel”.
