The manager was an absolute pleasure, always smiling and going out of his way to help with anything we needed. Our beds and pillows were very comfortable, the shower was fantastic, and the rooms, though small, were tastefully decorated. It's an old inn, so there's no lift, and you'll need to carry your luggage upstairs if you're on the second floor. We ate next door at Paddy Burkes, where the roast beef dinner was so good and generous that I was disappointed I couldn't finish it all. We had a great stay at The Oyster House and highly recommend it.

The express bus stop is right outside, though Galway proper is 20-30 minutes away. There's also a great bar and Thai restaurant next door. Our triple room was quite small, even though the bathroom had a roomy shower and counter space. The windows only open a little, and a very odd smell drifted in throughout our stay. It was alright for two nights, but I think the room would feel too small for a longer visit, so I'd give the hotel about 3.5 stars.

The shared area had plenty of facilities for eating or relaxing, and the staff were friendly and helpful when we checked in. Room 18 was clean and very nice, though there was an unpleasant smell the whole time. The bus stop is right in front.

The attached restaurant had great food, and service at check-in was great too. The room was comfortable, and there are a couple of pubs and restaurants in the area.

The pub serves very good food, and the Guinness is the best. The room has no TV or breakfast, though, and needs air-conditioning. With the window open, the road next to the room is very noisy; with it closed, the room gets too hot.
