The Arches Country House

The rooms look out over the lake, which really adds to the stay. The house is beautiful, with a homely feel and a premium touch, and Noreen was lovely. Breakfast was delicious too. We absolutely adored our time here. Such a hidden gem, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Maureen tended to our every need, and her hospitality made our special occasion even more beautiful. The room was spacious, super clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. Breakfast could not be beat. The scenery is stunning, and it’s a quiet, beautiful place to stay. It’s the best B&B I’ve ever been in. Highly recommended. The views are gorgeous, and the grounds are beautifully kept. We booked at the last minute, and Noreen found us a room that worked perfectly with our young baby. There was plenty of space, it was immaculately clean, and we had tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bed was SO comfortable, and even the bedsheets were amazing quality. Breakfast was fantastic, fresh and to a really high standard. Noreen’s homemade bread was fantastic too. Highly recommend!

All four of us are vegan, and Noreen went out of her way to find vegan cheese and make sure the bread was vegan. That was on top of the excellent breakfast she makes for all her guests. She and the other hosts were kind, tremendously helpful and good for a laugh. I couldn’t ask for a better host. We’d been looking for somewhere nearer Donegal town centre, but I’m so glad we found Noreen’s lovely lakeside accommodation instead. The views, calm and quiet were just what we wanted. I’ll certainly be back next year!
