Corrib House Guest Accommodation

We only stopped in for breakfast, so I can't speak to the rooms. The food was bland for the premium prices, and I left underwhelmed. Even though the place was fairly empty, I felt rushed. The waitress started clearing our table while my wife was still eating. I won't be back. Salthill Cottage is a short drive away and offers better value, nicer surroundings, better food, and friendlier staff.

My eggs Benedict came on bread that was soaking wet and soggy, and I honestly couldn't eat it. When I raised it at the till, they said no manager was working and called it “boxty bread.” Boxty bread doesn't mean soaked bread. If the dish is meant to come on soggy bread, that should be clear on the menu. They handled the feedback very poorly and made no effort to sort it out. I was charged €19.70, with no alternative dish offered. They told me to phone the next day when a manager would be in. A really disappointing experience.

The Riverside Suite was perfect, and easily the best place I stayed during my two-week Ireland vacation. It's just a few minutes' walk from the centre, right beside the river, which feels magical. The suite is split over two levels: enter on the main floor into a private, vintage-looking living room with a TV, a cute chimney, and sofas, then head upstairs to a cute bedroom and beautiful bathroom. It felt like being in a little apartment, and I regretted booking only two nights. The staff were kind and made sure I was well looked after. Breakfast was to die for, and as a solo traveller I felt really safe. I'll come back to the same room. It was just perfect, perfect, perfect.

We were there a few weeks back, and the quiet corner location made it easy to enjoy Galway while staying close to everything. The rooms were spotless and the beds really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, and the breakfast room was a pleasure to sit in. Alice was especially kind and helpful, and everyone on staff was smiling. Those small touches matter.
