Dunboyne Castle Hotel & Spa

The spa was a real highlight for me. The renovated thermal suite and relaxation rooms were beautiful and so calming, and my mini-facial and massage were among the best I’ve had. The aesthetician was attentive and knowledgeable. I arrived from the US on Sunday, December 14th, and Niamh at reception gave me such a warm welcome and kindly arranged an early check-in so I could rest after the flight. I liked the relaxed feel of the hotel, its holiday decorations, and the nature around it. My room was comfortable, the food was great, and everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. I had cocktails in the lounge that evening, where the service was excellent, then enjoyed the buffet breakfast the next morning. The smoothie stood out. I loved my stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

The only real letdown was the Guinness in the lobby bar, which was quite terrible. Apart from that pint, I had a brilliant stay. The spa was lovely and spacious enough that even on a busy Friday evening it never felt crowded, and The Ivy was a highlight. Dinner was great, and the breakfast buffet had a proper Irish spread, all hot and fresh, with eggs made to order. I got an incredibly warm welcome at check-in, and the Irish staff members I met were exceptionally friendly and attentive. My room was well-appointed, with a huge, comfortable bed that made for a great night's sleep. It was a wonderful, hospitable experience. HIGHLY Recommended

The hotel building itself is lovely, though the view from many rooms and the spa looks over fields toward a housing estate and school buildings. Some boundary treatment, perhaps tree planting, could help there. We had an enjoyable group Christmas night away, with a spacious room and a very comfortable bed. Dinner at The Ivy restaurant was delicious, and the service was impeccable for our group of 10. After dinner, The Sadlier was a good spot for drinks, with live music creating a great atmosphere. Breakfast was busy, but everything stayed well stocked.

Dinner was delicious, full of flavour, and beautifully presented, in an intimate, relaxed restaurant with a lovely ambience. The spa was another highlight, with state-of-the-art facilities that were beautifully maintained and lovely, knowledgeable staff who made the experience feel serene and indulgent. We had a wonderful weekend break at Dunboyne Castle, and it exceeded our expectations. The whole hotel felt calm, warm, and wonderfully Christmassy, a cosy and elegant festive escape. The staff were helpful, attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly, and made us feel very well looked after. It was a fantastic Christmas getaway that we thoroughly enjoyed, and we’d happily return.
