Buttermilk Lodge

We'd happily book here again if we're back in Co. Galway. It's a quiet, very clean and comfortable place, with town an easy walk away and a handy location for exploring the area. Our self-catering room had everything we needed, even a washer-dryer. Milo the dog was a fun bonus. We'd give it six stars if we could.

Cathriona greeted us warmly and was so helpful, especially understanding when we arrived late. We were also just a short walk from lots of restaurants and near the entrance to Connemara National Park. The next morning's breakfast was delicious: pancakes, French toast and smoked salmon, plus a little buffet with bread, pastries and fruit. Our room was spacious, nicely furnished and had a well-stocked bathroom. The beds were comfortable too. We only stayed one night, but it was lovely.

The homemade breakfast had a full menu of choices, and it was exceptional. The rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, with thoughtful touches and lovely shared spaces. The hosts and staff were really helpful. I was traveling around Connemara with a friend and we only had one night here, but I'd love to return and stay longer. Best guesthouse I've stayed in.

We were here for part of our honeymoon, and Cathriona was so kind and welcoming. I loved the decorations throughout the place, and our room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was fantastic, especially the full gluten-free menu. I still haven't found anything close to it elsewhere. We'd definitely stay again.
