We spent three nights at Quay House, which gave us plenty of time to explore Connemara without rushing. The family running the place were helpful with recommendations for town and things to do nearby. Our Sky room had a gorgeous view through the doors that open onto the quay, and breakfast was delicious. It's an eclectic spot just a short walk from the pubs and restaurants on Main Street. Such a delight to stay there.

A lovely breakfast, friendly people, great rooms and views. Clifden is about a 10-minute walk away, with loads of good bars and restaurants. A great stop on the Wild Atlantic Waty.

Breakfasts were spectacular, and the harbor views are gorgeous and calming. The public rooms are cosy, with oriental carpets and furniture among a collection built up over three decades: turtle shells, antlers and stuffed parrots. The family running the Quay (Key!) House are warm and generous with their time, and clearly passionate about Connemara. It was an extraordinary experience.

Most evenings I couldn't decide whether to head out and enjoy the colourful, charming town and meet its local gems, or stay in for tea in the parlour and a chat with paddy and Julia, the owners. It was a lovely dilemma to have.

The building has loads of character, and our room was spotless when we arrived. The beds and pillows were just right, and breakfast was sooo good. Such a charming B&B. I'd love to come back sometime.
