Leonardo Hotel Cork

The staff made our stay comfortable with how accommodating and friendly they were. Online check-in didn’t work for me, but when I messaged, they directed me to reception and the receptionist sorted things out helpfully. Our room was spotless and the mattresses very comfortable. The sink kept switching itself off unless it was at full power. We were only there one night, so it didn’t bother us, and we didn’t report it. The next morning we messaged and got a later checkout free of charge. The receptionist also offered to mind our bags while we went out for the day.

There was some traffic noise, though that’s to be expected in the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was good value, and breakfast was really nice. Good value for money in Ireland, where accommodation prices have gone up and up.

The staff in reception and the restaurant were lovely, but unfortunately the room was damp and smelled bad. The bathtub was stained, the shower curtain was yellow along the bottom, and the old carpets were dusty. There’s only one small restaurant, and breakfast was so poor that I wouldn’t pay extra for it. This feels more like a low three-star property. I’d spend a little more for somewhere much nicer.

It’s a stone’s throw from town, and breakfast was good. The room was okay, but much too hot. I couldn’t open the window to cool it down because the traffic below was too noisy. The bathroom was okay, though the shower gel pumps were hard to use and the bottle tops were filthy. The hairdryer was dodgy, but they quickly replaced it with a brand new one. All in all, a good hotel.
