REZz Cork

We were so uncomfortable that we left early. I stayed here two years ago without any trouble, but a lot seems to have changed. The room was dirty, with a dark brown mark on the duvet, cobwebs on the window and lights, and dust on every surface. The bathroom was clean, which made it stranger, as someone had clearly cleaned part of the room and missed so much else. We'd booked the larger Just Right room, advertised as having more space, but all that extra area seemed to be a random open patch with a chair. There were no hooks or shelves, the TV didn't work, and the deadbolt was broken, though the electric lock did work. The place felt like a renovation had been started and abandoned. The ceiling and most walls were bare concrete with exposed ducts and electrical wires. The thin drywall between rooms let us hear every word and other noises from next door. It was the strangest hotel I've stayed in.

The room felt cramped for two people with large suitcases. We had to take turns opening them and getting things out, with one of us staying on the bed while the other packed or unpacked. The lower level bar area was really cool, and the building is within easy walking distance of lots of places, including the train and bus, which saved us money on cabs. Being able to do a bit of laundry during the stay was a big help too.

The price feels right for what you get, and the location is great. I just needed somewhere to leave my things, sleep and explore the city, and it worked perfectly. There's free laundry too. If you're after a big room or a fancy hotel, this isn't the place. I'd definitely recommend it to someone with the same simple needs.

For 170+ quid for one midweek night, we were very disappointed. A few straightforward fixes could make this a completely different review, and I hope the Rezz gets things sorted. Cork needs more basic, affordable places to stay that are clean. The room just wasn't clean. One bed had no mattress cover, only a square sheet tucked around the corners. There were greasy handprints on the headboard, dark marks on the walls, and deeply set stains in the carpet. Any one thing might be an oversight, but together they left us unsure about the general cleaning standard. We stayed one night recently with my husband. The location is fantastic, though there was some street noise, which comes with being centrally placed on a main road and isn't the property's fault. The staff were friendly, the lobby bar was cool, the Wi-Fi was fast, and check-in and checkout went smoothly. The room size was fine for us, and the website described the cozy space accurately.
