Barr na Sraide Inn

The service was good and breakfast was decent, but the room was easily the worst part. We could hear everything from next door, even a man peeing. I'm six feet tall, and my feet dangled off the very short bed. It was hard and squeaked whenever I moved, while the pillow was even harder. This was undoubtedly the worst hotel we've stayed in Ireland.

We appreciated the generous breakfast buffet with lots of choices, the ample private parking in the courtyard and the complimentary bottled water in the hallway fridge. Having direct access in the evenings to the cozy pub belonging to the B&B was convenient, and the friendly staff made us feel at home right away. Our room was a little chilly at first because the heating took a while to start, and we could hear a lot through the walls. We also felt the price for one night was rather high compared with similar places we've stayed. Still, we were satisfied and appreciated the warm hospitality and nice amenities.

Patty was a wonderful hostess, full of great travel tips and a fun-loving sense of humor. She also put on an awesome breakfast. The place is right in the middle of town, close to everything, and having a washer, dryer and drying lines on site was amazing after a rainy hike. A wonderful stay.

We could walk everywhere and get our laundry done too, and the bathroom was great. Our room was just large enough, though a little tight. We had a great experience at the Barr na Sráide, and loved our hostess. She was fantastic for dinner ideas and routes.
