Newgrange Lodge

Breakfast was plentiful, and the place was very clean with friendly staff. We only stayed one night, but the thin walls were a real problem. At 5am the people next door woke us, talking and walking around, then banging doors, probably because they were leaving early. They should have considered the other guests. It would put me off coming back.

The bed covers were the only good thing for me. There was a horrible smell from the toilet, and when we asked if it could be fixed, we were told not to use the room’s toilet until a plumber could come the next morning. Breakfast was all Lidl’s finest. The staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there, and honestly, I don’t blame them. Surely there’s somewhere better for the money. Steer well clear of this hoax!

My friends had a room and it looked good. I stayed in the quiet dormitory over February half term, with 12 beds in IKEA bunks and linen provided. Each bed has a reading light, plug and USB charger. There’s an ensuite toilet, sink and shower, plus plenty of towels, though I’d bring one for the shower. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Nice accommodation at a sensible price, and I’d highly recommend it.

The rooms were absolutely immaculate, and breakfast was beautiful and fresh. From arrival, a lovely lady at reception greeted us with a smile, explained everything and showed us around the beautiful property. I’ve stayed in many hotels throughout Ireland and have never had a more welcoming reception or better experience than at the Newgrange Lodge. Couldn’t recommend it more. Special mention to Charlie.
