The room bore no resemblance to the website photos. The double bed was pushed against the wall and couldn’t be moved, and the only seat was a backless stool. There was no modern HVAC, so the window was the only way to adjust the temperature. We lasted about 30 minutes before deciding to find another hotel.

Avoid this place. It was the worst stay I’ve had in Dublin, and the price was extortionate. We were moved out of the first room because its mattress was so bad I wouldn’t put my dog on it. The mattress in the next room was even worse, but I didn’t have the energy to complain again. Reception didn’t ask if we were happy with the new room, or even acknowledge us when we went out for food. Later we understood why there were earplugs by the bed. The window was closed, but the pub next door was still roaring with music and a crowd, as if the bed were right outside. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

The room was a good size and clean, with a comfy bed, and the location was good too. We stayed three nights. A few things could be better: the kettle lead couldn’t reach a socket, so I had to borrow the ironing board to use as a safe table, and the shower fan didn’t work. The shower itself was large. The top-floor Velux windows opened wide, but they’re single glazed, so noise from the surrounding clubs was immense. It felt like sleeping in a club until 3 am. Double or triple glazing would make a big difference.

Our room was nice and the location was good, but it was extremely noisy. An outdoor bar terrace was less than three metres from the window, and there was no soundproofing at all.

For an affordable price, we got a very basic but nice, spacious room with a good bathroom. There was noise outside, but with the windows shut and the ear protectors they provide, we didn’t hear anything all night. We had our own as well. The bathroom door was a little loose and the shower fan didn’t work, though neither bothered us much for a one-night stay.
