Draper Rooms

The bartenders, who also hosted us at Draper Rooms, were the best part of the stay. They were friendly, helpful, and personable, and made us feel at ease. I liked being able to have a drink in the characterful pub downstairs before taking a nightcap up to the room. The “inn over the pub” idea is charming, and the pub felt like a relaxing escape from the city. The price was a big plus, especially compared with other Dublin hotels on the same date, and the central spot one block off Merrion Square was convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, but quite dated and tired. The worn carpet badly needs replacing, and the bathroom was a bit “grotty.” Some paint and modern updates would go a long way. It’s listed as a “boutique hotel,” but while it’s small, I wouldn’t call it luxurious. Still, it was excellent value for money. If you want an affordable, no-frills stay in a good location and like a friendly local atmosphere, Draper Rooms is a solid choice. It isn’t luxurious, but the character and value make it worthwhile.

The pub has good prices, and the Guinness was one of the best I had in Dublin at €6.80 a pint. The rooms upstairs are a great budget option, about a 15-minute walk from the city centre. It’s a nice spot away from the busy centre, with live football on and lovely, friendly staff. I’d stay again next time I’m in Dublin.

The room was small, but it had what we needed for four days and was cleaned and made up daily. The bathroom was exceptionally clean, and the shower was hot and powerful. We arrived with a few bags while travelling, and the staff helped us carry them to the room. Everyone, including the bar staff, was so nice and welcoming. We had a long weekend in Dublin and would highly recommend the Draper Rooms.

The pub downstairs had yummy food, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned every day and felt like good value. If you want to be near Dublin city center and stay somewhere with a local traditional Irish pub, this little gem fits the bill.
