The hotel was warm during our visit, though Ireland and the UK were having a hot week at the time. Housekeeping and the Concierge were both top notch, and breakfast felt five star, with fresh honeycomb every morning. The Atrium lounge was superb, and the service and location were welcome bonuses at an extraordinary hotel.

We stayed at The College Green Hotel Dublin from May 1-4. Its central location made getting around to Dublin’s main sights easy, though being right beside Temple Bar means there can be city noise at night. That’s a tradeoff to consider if you want a quieter stay. The concierge team and doormen were consistently professional, helpful, and friendly, just the level of service you’d expect from a hotel like this. Breakfast was a very different experience. We’re medically diagnosed celiacs, so we asked for eggs Benedict without the English muffin. The chef came out to confirm the request, which reassured us. But when the plates arrived, the server slammed them down without a word or basic courtesy. It felt openly dismissive and inappropriate for someone serving guests. That incident materially affected our stay and took away from the hotel’s otherwise strong points. A service failure like that shouldn’t happen at a property presenting itself at this level. The front-of-house team and location were excellent, but the inconsistency, especially in the restaurant, needs addressing.

Everything about our stay was perfect, with five-star service throughout. Pablo greeted us courteously as soon as we arrived, and Concierge staff Luis and David gave us great recommendations. The accommodations and amenities were wonderful, right in the centre of everything, and Stephen sent us off so gracefully. That’s what The Autograph collection means to me. We’ll stay here every time we’re in Dublin!

We were a young couple travelling with our 16-month-old, and the staff were helpful and attentive from the outset. When we arrived, her cot was already set up. It was a proper cot, not a pop-up one, and they’d left baby soap, lotion, and the cutest little robe. We needed milk for her bottles, and the staff often offered it free. One concierge even left a note for the morning team to bring fresh milk to our room so she could have a bottle right away. We hadn’t asked. Those thoughtful details made a big impression and gave us a great first impression of Ireland. We were in the William Yeats suite, which had an elegant theme. If you stay in that room, the winding stairs restaurant is based on Yeats poetry. We had a delicious dinner in the Mint room, where the restaurant manager was kind and chatty. It was nice to talk story with a local. The hotel is 200ft from Trinity college, right in the heart of the city, with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance. That made getting around easy for us as foreigners, without needing to drive. We’d stay again, and we’re very grateful to the staff.

The staff were welcoming from the door to the room, and the service in the downstairs bar was excellent for both dinner and drinks. Breakfast was outstanding, too. We stayed for the two weekends at either end of our Ireland trip, and got some very nice room upgrades and the breakfast package. There was one small mix-up, but they sorted it quickly and kept us updated while they fixed it.
