My mother and I spent five nights here and didn’t run into any problems. The place was clean and quiet, and the price was very good. The owners work hard and were very accommodating. We had to check out quickly because we were short on time, but I wanted to send them my greetings and best wishes.

We were here for one night while attending a wedding at Darver Castle, and the owners made sure we were well looked after. Therese even drove the six of us into the village twice that evening, which was a lovely gesture. Before we left for the wedding at 1.30pm, we were offered more tea or coffee and biscuits. Our room was spacious, spotless and comfortable, and the full Irish breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. We loved the china tableware too. It felt very homely and was ideally located for us.

We were looking for somewhere in Dundalk for a family wedding and were so glad to find this guest house. Neil & Theresa greeted us warmly, and little Lucky the dog was there to say hello too. Neil offered to drive us to the venue and gave us a taxi number for the way back. Our room was clean and roomy, and breakfast the next morning was hot, tasty, and served quickly. Nothing was too much trouble. We’d definitely stay again if we’re back in the area, and I’d recommend Keernaun House.

The location worked well as a base for trips to Kinsale, Galway and Belfast, and it sits between Dublin and Belfast. We’d happily return to Keernaun House. The room was roomy, clean, and had a comfortable bed; the bathroom was small but laid out well. It was quiet, and we felt at ease. The owners made us feel like family, with a welcome so warm that “friendly” hardly covers it. Breakfast was a lovely start to every day.

The family, a mother and two children from Ukraine, had been through a very long journey and were able to sleep peacefully in a safe, comfortable place. The food was lovely too. When the owners heard about their situation, they hosted them without asking for a penny. The family will always be grateful for that kindness.
