Flannerys Hotel Galway

The room was very spacious, the hotel was clean, parking was plentiful, and staff were polite and helpful. It’s close to town, and I’d recommend Flannery's Hotel overall. There were a few drawbacks for me: no fridge, breakfast cost extra, the decor needs updating, and it hosted a lot of Travellers.

The rooms were clean and nice, and the laundry service was great. Des at the bar was amazing, looked after us, and gave us lots of good suggestions for places to go. I really enjoyed chatting with him.

We booked at the last minute and got more than we expected. The staff were so lovely that I felt I had to leave a review, even though I never usually do. Receptionists were incredibly welcoming, and Liam from the bar was especially friendly, polite, and attentive. He also recommended lots of nice places in galway city. Absolutely fabulous, five stars.

What made the stay so enjoyable was the staff. Kevin gave us brilliant service while patiently training new staff and helping the others. He was always looking out for customers, and had such a good attitude. Dez was welcoming and mannerly when I ordered drinks. The dinner team were great too, especially Liam, the young barman. He worked quickly, brought drinks down to our table, and had my Mum and me laughing. Jerry, the night porter, was just as lovely and charming, and kindly lent me a lighter when I asked. Even the breakfast staff seemed happy at work, and management chatted casually with the team. There was no us-versus-them feeling. Everyone was friendly, from reception at arrival through to the night porter at the end of the evening. If Kevin trains more people, I might apply. It looks like a fantastic place to work. Thanks for a wonderful experience, we’ll definitely be back! The room was spacious, with a gorgeous modern bathroom and a firm mattress that gave me a great sleep. We enjoyed a delicious club sandwich at lunch, and the duck with plum and ginger sauce at dinner was spectacular. Breakfast had great options too.
