The river rushing outside our window was lovely to fall asleep to, and the setting is gorgeous. After a long day on the Kerry Way, arriving at this B&B felt like stepping into a dream. Breda was a great host and cook, and Lassie the dog showed us to the front door and sent us off warmly as we continued our trip. :D

The rooms are huge, and you can tell a lot of care went into the design. Brida cooked us a delicious full Irish breakfast and did everything she could to make us feel at home. The view and atmosphere helped with that too. Such a beautiful place to stay, with a lovely hostess.

Blackstones House is right beside the Kerry Way, with forest walks in Blackstones and Liceen Woods nearby. Carrauntoohil is 6km away. The B&B also has self-catering accommodation, and fishing permits and boat hire can be arranged. It sits on the banks of the upper Caragh River.

There’s a long trail along the riverbank for walking and fishing, and the river itself is beautiful. It’s a grand house, with the nicest lady of the house.

The views and rooms were beautiful, and the hosts were great. This was our favourite B&B in Ireland. It’s a bit of a drive from the nearest towns and the Ring of Kerry road, but the scenery makes the drive lovely whichever way you come. We’d happily stay again when we return.
