The receptionists were really friendly, and despite having a roadside room, I barely noticed any traffic. It’s a quiet rural spot, even on a weekend night. The hotel was very comfortable and I slept well both nights. Breakfast was fine, with cereal, fruit, juice and yogurt, plus the usual cooked options like a fry or scrambled eggs made to order. It’s well placed for exploring the lovely parts of Donegal, and I’d stay again. My only complaint is that the windows need a good clean inside and out.

I chose this hotel because I had a flight from Donegal Airport, and there’s a bus stop right outside that goes to the airport. The bed was soft and really comfortable, the place was clean, and the service was good. Staff were friendly and the rates were reasonable. Breakfast is included too.

There was plenty of parking, and the hotel has a big restaurant and bar. Breakfast was included and good, and my room at the back was quiet, as I’d requested. But it was tiny, with only a couple of feet on either side of the bed, and the only view was the kitchen roof. The place is very plain and basic, nothing special. It’s just a few feet from the main road, so I wouldn’t want a room at the front. Despite the photo, it isn’t close to the water, and it’s not near town either. I didn’t take any pictures because there was nothing that seemed worth photographing.

The staff serving us were very pleasant, but the meal was a letdown. We stopped for a light lunch and ordered the seafood chowder. It was a small bowl, mostly vegetables, with a few frozen prawns and tiny pieces of fish, all drowned in cream. At €11:95 per bowl, it was expensive for such poor quality food.

We’ve eaten here a few times and always enjoy the friendly service. The lounge bar is comfortable and relaxing, the pint is great, and the food is good.
