The owners were very attentive, and breakfast was delicious. It’s a high quality B&B with large rooms and a nice view, though the lake isn’t fully in view.

The beds and the shower were awful, and the whole stay felt miserable. We’d booked through an agent with B&B Ireland vouchers we’d already paid for. On arrival, we stood around for 30 minutes while the owner and her husband debated whether to accept them. They eventually did, after deciding “Sherry could take it” and avoid the tax, whatever that meant. Then we got a half-hour account of her latest cellulitis and Trump shaking hands with “a little Asian man” (Kim Jong Un). We told the owner we’d be back late, but before 11. We got in at 11 and crept upstairs. We made the mistake of calling our children in America, since the time difference made it necessary. We weren’t speaking loudly and the call lasted under 10 minutes. My wife then tried to shower in a shower that was about 2'x2', and I read. Around midnight, she realized she’d left her phone in the car. I put on sandals, crept back down, fetched it, and returned to an angry owner. She said she wasn’t happy, that guests were threatening to leave and nobody would stay tomorrow. I asked if they’d been chatting on the phone. She accused us of screaming and bouncing off the walls, said the neighbors weren’t happy, and ordered us to leave and go to bed. I apologized and said we hadn’t meant to upset anyone. In the morning we decided to leave without breakfast. The one other guest smiled at us downstairs, and after waiting five minutes without seeing anyone else, I left the key on the desk and went. The beds were comfortable, but after a few drinks we’d have slept anyway. This was literally the worst place I’ve ever stayed. If nowhere else is available, sleep in the back of your rental car.

The review Heng Ong Thye posted in February 2016, saying I have no showers, is incorrect. They didn’t stay at my B&B, since we only opened in May 2016. Every room has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, and we have no recollection of a guest by that name. Google should remove the review.

We booked two nights but left the next day. The room was very small, and the bathroom had no shower. The host was unfriendly, though her husband was helpful.
