The cottage sits in a peaceful country setting with a shared outdoor garden. It’s a lovely walk into Killarney, about 35-40 minutes, though the first stretch is along a road without footpaths. Inside, the double bed is right by the entrance and in the living room/kitchen area, so there’s no privacy for that sleeping spot. The other bedroom, with three single beds, was perfect. There was warm shower water, towels, and an equipped kitchen, though the bathroom door had no lock. It was fine for our couple of nights and the area was quiet. The property feels a bit worn and isn’t especially decorated or modern. If we stayed longer, the bedroom layout would be a problem.

The house was tidy and very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. It can sleep 8 very comfortably, and we couldn’t ask for more. The location is ideal for Muckross house and gardens, with lots to do there. Killarney is a bit farther away if you want to visit town, but taxis were very cheap for our group: €20 for six of us, and the local driver who took us in was lovely. We only met the owner once, but she was very nice. A lovely spot, and I’d return.

Margaret made us feel welcome and helped us out so well. We had everything we needed for the trip. The town was nearby by car and much bigger than we expected, with lots of shops for all kinds of shopping. We'd go back.

We stayed at Ethan house with the family at the end of October, and the grandchildren had a great time together. The rooms were very nice, though brighter lights throughout would have helped. There were plenty of towels and toiletries. Thanks, Margaret.

The next-door property had horses, and the owner let us pet them, which was a lovely bonus. Margaret's place was a highlight of our holiday. We stayed a few nights with the family, and having a kitchen was handy for a couple of days when we wanted a break from restaurant spending.
