The Lake Hotel Killarney

The lake-view rooms in the new wing were huge, with hard floors, comfortable beds and jet tubs. There are some really cozy places to sit around the hotel. It’s a gorgeous setting, though the hotel itself is quite large. The bar menu was limited, but the food was nice. We saw the outdoor spa and didn’t think it was worth paying for. Breakfast offered a cold buffet and hot Irish plates made to order.

We stayed for 4 nights in the AC Four Poster Deluxe Lake View room, which was lovely and very clean. The view over the grounds, lake and castle ruins was great. Breakfast was included and had lots of delicious choices. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I can’t remember a better vacation stay.

The thermal suite was a real highlight for me. It was quiet, clean, and very well maintained, with different heat rooms, places to relax, and a layout that made it easy to switch off for a few hours. It never felt overcrowded. The staff throughout the Lake Hotel were both friendly and professional, and everything seemed very well run. The rooms were roomy, spotless and comfortable, with thoughtful details, and the food was excellent at breakfast and in the evening restaurant. The lakes and mountain views are beautiful, and the calm setting starts as soon as you arrive. This hotel clearly takes pride in what it does. I’d happily recommend it and look forward to returning.

Breakfast was a favourite part of our two-night stay. My girls loved the pancake machine, and I enjoyed ordering eggs Benedict from the kitchen. Our family room was a little tight, but it worked well enough. I wish I’d booked a Lake View Room. The hotel is gorgeous and sits right on the Ring of Kerry path. I’m already planning a return with my husband.
