8/10
The food and tea were tasty and good value, and we ended up having a pleasant light lunch. The younger waitress who checked on us was friendly and attentive. The start was rough, though: at 11:52 am, the waitress told us rather rudely that food wasn't served until noon, even though we were eventually given menus and could order. That first interaction cost a star. It had a bit of a GDR-style feel at first. I'm only reviewing the restaurant.

Restaurant only. The food was bad, and the service included a casually racist remark. We stopped in for a Sunday meal, and when my friend looked at the lager options, the server made a jab about him not being Irish. Then my other friend ordered the vegetarian curry and found chicken in it. When they complained, the manager acted as if they were lying to avoid paying.

The steak came cooked just how I asked, and it was excellent. A proper Irish pub experience.

Such lovely staff, but there's no bar food after 4 pm from Monday to Thursday.
