There are sports channels on the TV, and dogs are welcome. The Guinness was good too. A proper old-school pub with loads of traditional charm.

Carmel made us a fantastic breakfast and was lovely throughout our stay. The best part came after we got home: I’d left some clothes in the room, and when I called, Carmel had kept them safe and mailed them back at no extra cost. That’s service. The Guinness was great as well, and we’ll stay again. 11/10.

I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you’re local. I’d booked months ahead and confirmed when I’d arrive, but they still turned me away when I got there. :(

The pub is cozy and memorable, and Carmel was a wonderful host. We arrived late and she helped us find something to eat, then poured a lovely pint. Our room and adjoining bathroom were clean, just right for a modest stay. I’d happily come back any day.

I’ve been making the trip from Wicklow to Kilrush for 17 years, though not as often as I’d like, and this place has become a home away from home. Carmel welcomes you into her pub, home, and B&B like she’s known you for years, like the Irish mammy of old. Her pints just keep getting better. The town is friendly and full of chat too. I’d highly recommend staying here at least once. Six stars.
