The staff were friendly and lovely, but I wouldn't stay here again. When we visited in January 2024, our room was bright, cozy, and lovely. In October 2025, it was a different story: the room was dull, small, run down, smelled horribly damp, and clearly needed considerable refurbishment. I mentioned the damp smell, and housekeeping turned on the heating and sprayed room freshener. On the way to our room, we spotted a bath towel on the floor. It had been put there to soak up water coming down from the ceiling. I don't consider this a four-star hotel.

We had dinner and ordered the seafood platter for two. It was excellent, and the live music was great too. They have it every night.

Our 87-year-old grandmother joined us for a special lunch, but after waiting about an hour and a half for a burger, she left early with my mom to get a sandwich at Centra because she'd gone so long without eating. When we ordered, our waiter seemed unsure what was happening, and it looked like she hadn't been properly trained, which didn't seem to be her fault. After around 45 minutes, we asked another waiter about the food. He answered dismissively, as if he didn't know or care. We waited another half hour before my grandmother gave up and left. When our food finally came, it was only average. The service and the whole experience were horrible.

Service at Blue Haven restaurant was painfully slow. If you want to get anything else done that day, don't go here. You'll be stuck waiting at least three hours for salad and chips.

A fantastic place with a great bar and really attentive staff. I'd skip the breakfast and eat out.
